Ford Ironman St. George has Australia’s Luke Bell & Chris McDonald up against some of the World’s Best Triathletes

Australia’s Chris McDonald and Luke Bell are going head to head with the Czech Republic’s Petr Vabrousek and Portugal’s Sergio Marques. While former Ironman champion, Australian Kate Major, is up against a host of other Ironman champions in New Zealand’s Gina Ferguson, Canadian Heather Wurtele and American Caitlin Snow.

Craig Alexander and Mirinda Carfrae Take on a Star Studded Field in the St Croix Ironman 70.3 Triathlon

Australia’s Craig Alexander and Mirinda Carfrae will be in the US Virgin Islands this weekend competing in the St Croix Ironman 70.3 triathlon. Both are backing up from the St Anthony’s Olympic distance triathlon in Florida last week. They are up against some tough competion. New Zealand’s Samantha Warriner recently won the Ochsner Ironman 70.3 in New Orleans and another Kiwi, Terrenzo Bozzone, won the men’s division of the Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 in Texas last weekend.

Compressport NSW Club Champs Set to Start with Record Field

Triathlon clubs across New South Wales are gearing up for the biggest event of the NSW age grouper’s year: the Cub Championships.

Although clearly targeted at age groupers this year’s event has also attracted many professionals who are hoping to earn points for their clubs and give back to training partners who have supported them throughout the year.

10 Seconds separated Greg Bennett and Craig Alexander at the end but it wasn’t enough for either to edge out eventual winner Cameron Dye. Dye out swum and out rode both Bennett and Alexander but was almost 2 minutes slower over the 10km run.

New Zealand’s Terenzo Bozzone and Canada’s Samantha McGlone Win Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 Triathlon in Texas

New Zealand’s Terenzo Bozzone and Canada’s Samantha McGlone both used outstanding half marathons to pull of their victories here in Galveston at the Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 Texas.

Mirinda Carfrae 2nd at St Anthony’s Olympic Distance Triathlon in Florida – Top 15 Women’s Results

USA’a Sarah Haskins edged out Australia’s Mirinda Carfrae to win the St Anthony’s triathlon in St Petersburg, Florida. Haskins recently finsihed 8th in the Sydney round of the Dextro Enegry Triathlon ITU World Championship. Carfrae is focusing on long distance currently and recently won the Rohto Ironman 70.3 in California.

Jason Shortis Completes his 50th Official Ironman Triathlon with a 4th Place at the 2010 Spec Savers Ironman South Africa

Jason Shortis completed his 50th Official Ironman triathlon with a 4th Place at the 2010 Spec Savers Ironman South Africa. In the end Shortis was 16 minutes off the eventual winner Raynard Tissink but along the way made some good inroads at the start of the marathon to look like he had something special in his legs today.

Australian Triathletes David Dellow and Clayton Fettell 4th & 5th at Ishigaki ITU World Cup in Japan

David Dellow came in 4th with 42 sec gap, and Clayton Fettell was 5th with a 46 sec gap from the winner. Fettell managed a big escape from the pack on the fifth lap of the bike and started the run with a two-minute advantage on the field. Valentin Meshcheryakov claimed his first World Cup title in Ishigaki with a time of 1:54:02. Japan’s Yuichi Hosoda was second with Ryosuke Yamamoto in third.

Australian Triathlete Jason Shortis is Running Strong at the 26km Mark in the 2010 Ironman South Africa

Australia’s Jason Shortis exited T2 in 7th place, 15 minutes behind the race leader Mathais Hecht. However at the 18km mark Jason has taken almot four minutes of Hecht and is running strong. Ironman South Africa Press Conference

With the PRO athletes in a confident mood the atmosphere at the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa Pre-Race Press Conference was relaxed before the big day. The press conference was held at the Beach Hotel in Port Elizabeth on 23 April 2010 at 10:00 and was attended by PRO athletes, event organisers and sponsors on a slightly gloomy Friday morning.
