The word is that  the 2015 Ironman 70.3 World Championship is going to be one of the most memorable for more than one reason.

Athletes from around the world have been arriving in  Zell Am See-Kaprun, Austria since last weekend and without exception the town and its surrounds  are  being described as breathtaking.

This is going to be very hard to beat!

Some Australians took to the swim course yesterday and found it to be perfect. Water temp was great and once again the scenery is the stuff of  postcards.

For those age group athletes that have ventured on to the bike course reality is starting to set in as they realise the magnitude of what they are about to climb on Sunday. For most non Eurpoean age groupers this sort of terrain is foreign. But it’s not just the climb that is causing a few moments of contemplation. Once the climb is  behind the athletes they then have the prospect of getting back down the mountain. Some of the descents are going to challenge those who do not have solid bike skills and nerves of steel. There are a couple of corners that will need a fair bit of concentration and athletes who are used to driving on the other side of the road are going to have to remember which side to both stay on and pass on.
