Emma Moffatt chats with Julia Russell in Aix les Bains, France as they prepare to head to Beijing

Julia Russell has been at the European Training base, Aix les Bains France working with the Australian Institute of Sport Triathlon. This is the second year in a row that Julia has been the physio and soft tissue therapist for the Australian team. Julia took some time out to chat to Emma Moffatt for Trizone while in Lausanne. Emma is racing for Australia this weekend in Beijing at the Dextro Energy Triathlon World Championship. Emma is currently ranked 7th in 2011 and apart from winning Hamburg has had the best year.

Craig Alexander’s recent result at Ironman Racine 70.3 made many wonder what went wrong. A 1:31 half marathon was very uncharacteristic for him and after his recent win at Ironman Couer d’Alene in a very fast time Racine seemed out of character. But there was more to it. Up and Coming Triathlete Luke Gillmer to make his Professional Debut at Port Macquarie 70.3

Making his 70.3 debut as a professional this weekend at Port Macquarie is Luke Gillmer. Luke has been meticulously planning this since coming back in to triathlons in 2006. After starting triathlons in Dubbo at the age of 14 and continuing until 18 Luke fell in love with the sport. At 18yrs university came around and no more triathlons happened until 2006 when he was challenged to do the Port Macquarie half ironman. This race took Luke just over 6 ½ hours.
