ULTIMATE Triathlon Forster Debuts this Weekend

The Ultimate Triathlon in Forster sees an inaugural start field of over 500 triathletes. This is a very solid start to this new series but with the crew from Elite Energy behind it and the atmosphere we are all used to at Huskisson Long Course it is inevitable that a large number of athletes would take up this new challenge. All up there will be around 800 entrants racing over all the distances this weekend.

Australians Lisa Marangon, Courtney Gilfillan and Chloe Turner 1-2-3 at 2011 Singapore ITU Triathlon Asian Cup

Lisa Marangon led Australia’s assault at the Singapore ITU Asian Cup. Marangon finished ahead of Courtney Gilfillan and Chloe Turner to have an all Aussie podium. In men’s race Australia was also well represented on the podium with Bryce Macmaster finishing 3rd. Lisa Marangon and Peter Schokman top 10 at the San Francisco ITU Triathlon Pan American Cup

The San Francisco Pan American Cup has seen Australians Lisa Marangon and Peter Schokman convincingly finish in the top 10. Whilst Australia is in the depths of a cold winter, things are just heating up for Aussie triathletes overseas, and the results at San Francisco including that of Michael Fox, shows Australia is not short of any talent as we have seen around the globe in the last weekend.

Annabel Luxford and Lisa Marangon lead the Aussie charge at ITU Triathlon Pan American Cup

Last weekend in Monroe, Washington State USA five Australians, headed by former top ITU triathlete Annabel Luxford (4th) raced and performed well. Michael Fox was the only DNF after a flat tyre and no spare put him out. Lisa Marangon placed 7th with Sophia Amor-Smith and Pete Schokman also racing well.

Nicky Samuels powers away on the bike to steal Mooloolaba ITU Triathlon World Cup

New Zealand’s Nicky Samuels used a daring breakaway on the bike to snap up her first career ITU Triathlon World Cup title today in Mooloolaba. Reigning World Champion Emma Moffatt of Australia came from behind and ran into second place. Barbara Riveros Diaz of Chile came across for third, despite having to serve two time penalties.
