Nepean Triathlon – Entries to Australia’s oldest event now open

Entries have opened to the event that claims to be the oldest in Australia’s triathlon calendar – the Penrith Valley Napean Triathlon. With nearly $10,000 in prize money up for grabs the race counts some of the best amongst it’s previous winners including: Pete Jacobs, Trent & Leigh Chapman, Luke Harrop, Brad Bevan and Greg Welch. On the womens side Melissa Vanderwater, Jo King, Brittany Orr and Mel Ashton have all taken home the silver wear.

NSW’s Largest Triathlon Series – Olympic Distance, Sprint Distance, Pro Tour and Enticer Triathlons

Elite Energy announces 7 triathlon festivals hosted along the east coast of Australia. From Forster in the north to Batemans Bay in the south triathletes will be able to race in a single event or race the in the NSW triseries. Noosa Triathlon Entires to Re-open Tuesday 8th June

Such was the demand for places at the 28th Noosa Triathlon that the server crashed when the site opened for entries, leaving thousands frustrated. USM believes it has now resolved the issues and set a new date for entries opening.

Noosa Triathlon set to sell out within hours of opening

It seems nowadays that all the major Triathlon events in Australia sell out shortly after opening, forcing athletes to be ultra organised in their race plans, and to commit months in advance of the actual event. The iconic olympic distance Noosa Triathlon, now in it’s 28th year looks set to follow this trend when online entries open at 9.00am on Tuesday 1st June, despite their being over 7,000 places up for grabs.

Luke Harrop Memorial / Gatorade Tri Series Attracts Bumper Field

This Sunday the Southport Broadwater Parkland will play host to 2,500 triathletes at the Gold Coast Triathlon – Luke Harrop Memorial which also doubles as the grand final of the Gatorade Queensland Tri Series.

After seven races from October 2009 to April 2010 the series has seen 12,700 competitors take part across the summer.

ITU World Championship Series – Sydney: Australian Triathletes Look to Hold off International Challengers

Australia Team Named – Snowsill out of Sydney ITU World Championship Series

Australia has named a strong team boasting a blend of youth and experience for the historic world championship series opener, despite the withdrawal of Emma Snowsill. The Aussie contingent will be headed by reigning ITU world champion and Olympic bronze medallist Emma Moffatt, and the winner of Saturday’s ITU Mooloolaba World Cup, Olympian and 2006 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Brad Kahlefeldt.

Australia’s Luke Mckenzie Wins 2010 Ironman China 2010 Triathlon

Luke Mckenzie has backed up from his recent win at the Goodiwindi ‘Hell of the West’ triathlon with an 11 minute win at Ironman China 2010. Mckenzie lead from start to finish with his swim proving to be the difference over Jozsef Major of Hungary.

Julie Dibens Triumphs at 2010 Abu Dhabi International Triathlon Long Course Women’s Race

Spain’s Eneko Llanos Wins 2010 Abu Dhabi International Triathlon Long Course Race

Eneko Llanos has taken out the inaugral Abu Dhabi International Triathlon long course race in a time of 6:34:37 edging out Dirk Bockel by 53 seconds with Rasmus Henning coming third.
