In a big weekend of Triathlon, Australian Paul Ambrose was able to finish second at the Amica Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island race, and in doing so pick up some more Kona qualification points. Paul was second male pro out of the water and maintained his position through the whole race. His run of 1hr 16 minutes was not quite enough to catch David Kahn who set up his win with a very fast 24min swim. Ambrose tweeted that he was disappointed with his swim, after swimming off course having been ‘blinded’ by the sun.

Missing from the start list was Tim Berkel after having some issues with cancelled flights.
