Jordan Rapp and Mary Ellis win Ironman Canada 2011

After exiting the swim over three minutes behind the leaders Jordan Rapp showed is class on the bike riding over six minutes quicker than the field and then running over 5 minutes faster than the second placed Torsten Able and third placed Bert Jammer.

Kiwi Bryan Rhodes and Canadian Scott Curry were both in the hunt at the end of the bike leg but suffered through the run to finish down the leaderboard. Australian Ironman great Jason Shortis had a reasonable swim and a good run but was off the pace on the bike today.

Mary Ellis won in style over 30 minutes ahead of her nearest competitor. Meredith Kessler stayed in contact somewhat on the bike but once hitting the run Ellis slowly powered away from Kessler. Kim Loeffler over came a slow swim and bike to come good on the run and pass Kessler and take second spot.
