After the seventh CHALLENGEFAMILY World Bonus race, CHALLENGESALOU, Pablo Gonzales Dapena from Spain has been able to increase his lead. Thanks to his fourth top 3 finish of the season and his second place at CHALLENGESALOU, he has now collected 900 points in total. Similar to last week, Yvonne van Vlerken didn’t race a Challenge event this weekend, but she still holds top position of the CHALLENGEFAMILY World Bonus with 575 points.

After wins at CHALLENGEGRANCANARIA, CHALLENGELISBOA, and a second place at CHALLENGEROMA, last weekend Pablo Gonzales Dapena finished second at CHALLENGESALOU. This earned him a further 250 points together with which he now has a total of 900. Cameron Wurf won the race at Salou, while George Goodwin came in third. The victory earned Wurf his first 250 points and he now holds ninth position in the CHALLENGEFAMILY World Bonus. Similarly, Goodwin also earned his first 150 points and is currently in 17th place.

Behind CHALLENGEFAMILY World Bonus leader Gonzales Dapena, Dylan McNeice remains in second place with 500 points, that arose from his victory at CHALLENGETAIWAN. McNeice has set his sights on CHALLENGEVENICE next week for double points in the Long Distance race. Frederik Croneborg remains third having earned 400 points by his second place in Taiwan. Neither of the athletes participated at CHALLENGESALOU.

The top 2 women remain unchanged, but a new name has taken up third place

The women’s race at CHALLENGESALOU was dominated by Judith Corochan Vaquera and earned her her first 250 points for the CHALLENGEFAMILY World Bonus. Second place in Salou was Laura Siddall (200 points) and Margie Santimaria came in third (150 points). These 150 points enabled Santimaria to overtake Alyssa Godesky in third position in the CHALLENGEFAMILY World Bonus. Santimaria now has 490 points and while Godesky still has 400 points she has dropped one place down to fourth.
