The Championship Confirms Free Livestream in Partnership with Triathlon Today

The Championship, the flagship event of Challenge Family taking place on 22 May and featuring many of the world’s best athletes, will broadcast for free and in full via a live stream provided by Triathlon Today. As last year, O2 TV Production will be responsible for the production of the live stream allowing triathlon enthusiasts from around the world to enjoy the race that is packed with spectacle every year.

Not only defending champions, Lucy Buckingham (GBR) and Florian Angert (GER), will return to Šamorín, Slovakia, but dozens of pro athletes will also compete for the prestigious victory and 100,000 euro prize purse. The livestream allows The Championship to be followed in its entirety, from start to finish, and will feature commentary by Belinda Granger.

“We are tremendously excited to be able to present a live stream as Triathlon Today, making a race as impactful as The Championship visible for free to fans around the world. Our editors follow races globally throughout the year to report on the latest triathlon news, but of course there are always a few iconic races that are extra special for all of us. The Championship unmistakably belongs into that category; every year the highest level of racing takes place here. We want everyone to be able to enjoy a race like this and therefore find it important that this live stream is available for free,” says Triathlon Today Editor in Chief Tim Moria.

Challenge Family CEO Jort Vlam is looking forward to The Championship and is pleased with the presence of a free live stream. “This is of course a hugely important race for us and in addition to that, Challenge Family is primarily focused on athletes. That also means that we want to make our races as visible and accessible as possible. We want The Championship – a race with huge appeal for the best athletes in the world – to be visible worldwide and so we are pleased our partnership with Triathlon Today makes this possible.”

The live stream of The Championship is free to watch and will be broadcast via challenge-family.live and the Triathlon Today website and social media channels. The Championship takes place on 22 May and, as always, will be held on and around the x-bionic® sphere in Šamorín, Slovakia.
