Aaron Farlow Third at Challenge Henley-on-Thames

Aaron Farlow has continued his UK adventure, which saw him take out Ironman UK in August with a third place at the tough Challenge Henley course. Petr Vabrousek (CZE) and Yvette Grice (GBR) took out the inaugural titles at the weekend. The men’s race started off looking like the battle was going to be between Aaron Farlow (AUS) and Stephen Bayliss (GBR), who was first out of the water, with Lothar Leder (GER) retiring early on the bike leg. But with only 20k to go there were just two minutes separating the top six men.

Australia’s Aaron Farlow and Germany’s Kirsten Moeller win Ironman UK Triathlon

Australia’s Aaron Farlow has won Ironman UK in a new course run record of 2:41:45. Farlow led from start to finish and in the end had a gap of 13 minutes to savour the victory. Earlier in the week Farlow had raced the Alpe D’Huez triathlon making this victory even more impressive. Farlow entered IMUK as a last minute decision after a tought week of trainning and racing. There is talk of a short run course but that does not change the result of the race or Farlow’s achievement.

Nepean Triathlon – Tim Reed Previews the Male Pro Field

Tim Reed, second at the recent SiS Half Ironman in Port Macquarie, previews the guys race at this weekend’s Nepean Triathlon. There is a cracking field and it looks like four possible winners with a couple of potential surprises if there has been some secret training going on. This will be an exciting race and if you live in Sydney and are not racing then get out to Penrith and watch an exciting race format with some of the top triathletes in Australia.
