Graham O'Grady and Joanna Lawn have won the 2011 Port Of Tauranga Half Ironman. Graham O'Grady lead from start to finish just managing to hold off a fast finishing Callum Millward who ran the half marathon just over four and a half minutes quicker than O'Grady. Jo Lawn had to fight for hers with a come from behind win over Sydney based Kiwi Anna Cleaver. Anna told Trizone today that Lawn passed her with 2 1/2kms to go in the race. Australians Rachael Paxton, Rebekah Keat and Nicole Ward were 4th, 6th and 7th.

Cameron Brown turned back the clock twenty years after winning his first triathlon in senior company to once again claim the Whangamata round of the Contact Tri Series. Joanna Lawn put in a great performance but was just edged out for first place by 19 year old Rebecca Kingsford. The women's race was a fascinating duel with Kingsford, Teresa Adam, Jo Lawn and Maddy Brunton in the thick of it all day.
Nine for Brown, record for Lawn in TaupoCameron Brown showed all his experience to overcome the challenge from fellow Kiwi, Terenzo Bozzone, to claim his ninth victory at the Bonita Ironman New Zealand. Their countrywoman Jo Lawn gained the upper hand over rival Gina Crawford to reclaim the women's title that she lost to the Christchurch triathlete last year in Taupo, setting a new course record in the process despite the windy conditions.
