The recently announced Food Spectrum Ironman Charity Challenge is an initiative that will bring some organisation to all of the fund raising done by the thousands of ironman participants every year. Trizone wanted to find out a bit more about the driving forces behind this new charity challenge. Food Spectrum CEO, Mark Betts has been raising money for charities for some time now.

Over the last year we have come to see Gi Singh at many triathlon events around New South Wales. I think the first time I saw him was on a Saturday morning cycling around Centennial Park in yellow budgie smugglers with no shirt on. Unbelievable! Ironman Charity Challenge launched in Australia

World Triathlon Corporation has announced an initiative that will help Ironman and its athletes promote social inclusion, community development and lend a hand to Australians in need. The Ironman Charity Challenge is being launched with the support of Brisbane-based food products innovator and manufacturer Food Spectrum. The Food Spectrum Ironman Charity Challenge gives athletes participating in Ironman Western Australia, Ironman Australia and Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie the opportunity to raise funds for one of four official charities.

Australian Ironman Triathlete Chris McCormack visits Los Gatos to Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Foundations

By Judy Peterson. Ironman Chris McCormack was in Los Gatos July 15 for a “short” 26-mile ride that raised money for breast cancer foundations. The ride was organized by Silicon Valley Leadership Group CEO Carl Guardino and his wife Leslee, but the star of the event was McCormack. McCormack’s mother died of breast cancer in 1999, which proved to be a pivotal moment in his life.
