ULTIMATE Triathlon Forster Debuts this Weekend

The Ultimate Triathlon in Forster sees an inaugural start field of over 500 triathletes. This is a very solid start to this new series but with the crew from Elite Energy behind it and the atmosphere we are all used to at Huskisson Long Course it is inevitable that a large number of athletes would take up this new challenge. All up there will be around 800 entrants racing over all the distances this weekend.

Register for the 4th Annual Trishave Women’s Triathlon Training Camp

Tri NSW is holding their very popular triathlon training camp for women again. To be held in August at Forster on the NSW Mid North Coast the camp will be run by some very popular leading coaches and athletes again. Feedback from some of last year’s attendees was that the camp was a huge success and a great skill and confidence building experience.

New Ultimate Triathlon to Debut in October 2011 at Forster

This new event will be launched at the birth place of Ironman Australia (Forster) in October 2011, with Batemans Bay to follow and other locations interstate to be announced at a later date. Distances for ULTIMATE TRIATHLON will be a 2k swim, 120km bike and a 20km run. This event will be a step up for longer distances athletes and with a shorter run (20km) will enable athletes to recover and race or train within a few weeks.

Mitch Robins to Tackle Triseries Opening Round in Forster on September 18 and 19

Along with Lisa Marangon, Mitch Robins is heading to the Triseries in Forster on September 18 and 19 to race the Shimano Pro Series and the Olympic distance race. At 22 Mitch is young to be focusing on long distance racing and with this in mind he is starting to look at ITU as a possibility. The Triseries that Elite Energy is staging in NSW could not have come along at a better time and provides the perfect opportunity for Mitch to test himself over the Olympic distance and see what he is capable of.

Lisa Marangon Hoping for a Double at the First Round of the Triseries in Forster

With the first round of the new Triseries at Forster only two weeks away Trizone spoke to Lisa Marangon, one of the leading female pros who will be racing in the series on September 18 and 19. Lisa will be competing in the Shimano Pro Tour on the Saturday then backing up to race the Olympic distance on the Sunday. The Shimano Pro Tour is a sprint distance race and will feature some of the leading professional and up and coming elites. The 3 lap bike leg will ensure the spectators are able to see the race unfold.
