Lisa Norden wins $151,500 Hy-Vee Triathlon 5150 US Championship

Lisa Norden ran in to 1st place to take the $151,000 first prize at the Hy-Vee Triathlon 5151 US Championship today. Coached by Australian Darren Smith, Lisa Norden had a mixed ITU season this year. A self confessed late starter in the season has peaked at the right time. Australian triathlete and current world ironman champion Mirinda Carfrae was devasting in second position with ITU specilaist Sarah Haskins from the USA finishing in 3rd.

Hy-Vee Hosts World’s Richest Triathlon in Des Moines, Sunday June 13, 2010

Over 100 of the world’s fastest triathletes will converge on West Des Moines, Iowa this Sunday in hopes of grabbing their share of the largest triathlon prize purse in the world. With a total of $1 million up for grabs, and $200,000 going to both the male and female winners. Australian’s competing are Emma Moffatt (last years winner), Emma Snowsill, Brad Kahlefeldt, Courtney Atkinson, Dan Wilson, David Dellow, Gareth Halverson and USA’s favourite new son Greg Bennett racing under the ITU flag.
