Brendan Sexton and Michelle Wu win Nepean Triathlon – Results

Brendan Sexton over came a swim deficit to win the 2010 Nepean Triathlon. Sexton also went on to win the Super Sprint race to make it a very profitable morning. Pete Jacobs received a stop / start penalty on the bike. Michelle Wu continued her recent winning form and won the women's race from behind. She ran down Lisa Marangon who led off the bike. Melissa Rollinson was charging through the field but Wu was able to hold her off.

Tim Reed, second at the recent SiS Half Ironman in Port Macquarie, previews the guys race at this weekend's Nepean Triathlon. There is a cracking field and it looks like four possible winners with a couple of potential surprises if there has been some secret training going on. This will be an exciting race and if you live in Sydney and are not racing then get out to Penrith and watch an exciting race format with some of the top triathletes in Australia.

Nepean Triathlon Boasts one of the Hottest Female Fields so far this Year

This weekend's 29th Nepean triathlon has one of the hottest fields in Australian triathlons this year. The fastest male and female triathletes could potentially take away $2,750 each for a mornings work. The women's field is the hardest to pick with potentially 6 women capable of taking out the race. Michelle Wu won the recent Tawian 70.3, Melissa Rollinson won Gold Coast half ironman, Lisa Marangon recently won the Forster Olympic distance and has a huge base from Kona, Anna Cleaver just won Port Macquarie half ironman, Melissa Vanderwater and Charolette McShane are both capable of winning. Throw in Tara Prowse, Kirra Siddle, Chloe Turner and up and coming Matilda Raynolds and it could be anyone's race on the day.

Nepean Triathlon – Entries to Australia’s oldest event now open

Entries have opened to the event that claims to be the oldest in Australia's triathlon calendar - the Penrith Valley Napean Triathlon. With nearly $10,000 in prize money up for grabs the race counts some of the best amongst it's previous winners including: Pete Jacobs, Trent & Leigh Chapman, Luke Harrop, Brad Bevan and Greg Welch. On the womens side Melissa Vanderwater, Jo King, Brittany Orr and Mel Ashton have all taken home the silver wear.
