Lisa Marangon, Rina Hill and Rachael Paxton to headline Hervey Bay Olympic Distance Triathlon

Lisa Marangon has confirmed that she will be racing in Hervey Bay where she will be going up against Rachael Paxton and 2004 Athens Olympian and Commonwealth Games silver medalist Rina Hill in the relaunched 2XU Hervey Bay Olympic distance triathlon. With over $25,000 in cash and prizes on offer it is a wonder more of our top triathletes who are not racing at Port Macquarie on the same day are not racing.

Abu Dhabi Triathlon Women’s Preview with Caroline Steffen and Christie Sym

The women’s field is headed by Julie Dibens, Leanda Cave and last year’s fastest runner at Abu Dhabi and the runner up in the 2010 Hawaii Ironman World Championship Caroline Steffen. Australian Christie Sym will be hoping to be right up there with these women. Trizone spoke to Steffen and Sym about their thoughts on the race this weekend and what they will be doing next in 2011.

Melissa Rollison Second at Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship Triathlon in Phuket

Australia’s newest triathlon sensation, Melissa Rollison, finished and amazing 2nd at the Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship in Phuket. Melissa’s 12th fastest overall run of the day catapulted her in to 2nd spot behind the powerhouse Caroline Steffen. Rollison’s self confessed slow swim was good on the day and put her in 7th coming out of the water and a quick T1 saw her move in to 5th at the start of the bike leg. Belinda Granger was 3rd, Michelle Wu 4th and Rachael Paxton was 7th. In the mens race Chris Legh was 5th and Paul Ambrose was 6th.
