Chrissie Wellington has withdrawn from the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship due to an unspecified illness. Chrissie started to feel unwell the day before the race and could not train comfortably. She waited until the last minute to rack her bike but eventually made the decision to pull out. This must have been one of Chrissie’s hardest decisions to make knowing how passionate and excited she is about this race.

A sad sight to see is Chrissie’s bike alone in transition with all the pros now out on course.
