2014 for Brendan Sexton was not all good and certainly not all bad. 35th in the ITU World Series rankings was an improvement on a nightmare 2013 but still far from where Brendan wanted to be at this time of the season in 2015.
With an early September finish to the WTS and a continued hunger to race Brendan was faced with the choice to continue the ITU season (world cups across 4 continents) or have a go at something different. Something different ALWAYS has an appealing ring to it until you start looking at specifics. Something different often involves planning, qualifying, a change in training schedule and, for Brendan, finding some quality company to share the experience with. Often making these factors becomes too difficult, too costly or just plain impossible “but not this year.
