Cellarbrating some Bondi Rescues in Wollongong
Brendan Sexton was wrapped to get a visit by two of the Bondi Rescue boys in Wollongong last weekend. ‘Cellarbrations this weekend after getting the best of two certain Bondi Lifegurards in a beach swim session. Don’t take any notice the surf was ankle high and the boys had 3 races coming up in the following two days!”
Adriel ‘Bacon’ Young and Andy ‘Reidy’ Reid stopped by to see what it is like to do an open water swim set with the ‘Wollongong Wizards’ ITU training squad.
Bacon copped the brunt of it as initially he was in amongst the female ITU athletes. “One of the toughest swim sessions possible: Open water with a pack of determined girls trying to beat you around a swim buoy by any means possible. Survived today, only just. Deserved beachside feed afterwards!”
We are pretty lucky in Wollongong to have such a large group of elite ITU triathletes living and training here over summer.
