Challenge Wānaka, now in its 17th year, is set to open the Challenge Family 2023 season in New Zealand with an exciting weekend of international triathlon events.
The big picture: Over 11 events, the world's most scenic triathlon event will feature top international and local athletes, showcasing their skills in various race categories.
What they are saying: Sebastian Kienle and Rebecca Clarke are just two of the top professional athletes who will compete in the flagship middle-distance event, with stiff competition from other world-ranked athletes.
Context: The Oceania Triathlon Cup will also take place, featuring over 70 elite short course athletes from around the world, along with adaptive events and triathlon events for school children.
Noteworthy athletes: In addition to Kienle and Clarke, top Australian athletes Matt Burton, Caleb Noble, and Fraser Walsh, as well as New Zealand talent Jack Moody, Mike Phillips, and Sam Osborne, will also compete in the event.
