Courtney Atkinson remains unbeaten over the longer distances with his latest win at the Ironman 70.3 Philippines. Second overall was the three time former race champ and current Ironman world champion Pete Jacobs. Jacobs ran a race fast 1:15:37. Last year’s run times were considerably slower due to differing conditions. Jacobs winning run last year was 1:27:55.
Completing the Australian clean sweep of the podium was David Dellow who’s 1:18:55 was enough to pull away from 4th placed Chris McCormack.
In the women’s race it was Caroline Steffen, the recent Challenge Roth champion, who lead from start to finish with a dominating bike leg.
Second female was USA’s Bree Wee with Belinda Granger once again taking 3rd overall in the women’s race.
