Experience the Beauty and Challenge of Long Island at the Inaugural Ironman 70.3 New York - Jones Beach Triathlon
Join the adventure and test your endurance at the inaugural Ironamn 70.3 New York - Jones Beach triathlon, taking place at the beautiful Jones Beach State Park on Long Island.
The Ironman Group has revealed that the southern shore of Long Island and Jones Beach State Park will be the location for its newest Ironman 70.3 triathlon. The Ironman 70.3 New York - Jones Beach event will make its debut on September 23rd, 2023. Participants will embark on a journey through some of Long Island's most picturesque areas such as the Jones Beach Theater, the famous Jones Beach Boardwalk, and Nassau County's Wantagh State Parkway.
- The Ironman 70.3 New York - Jones Beach triathlon will take place on September 23rd, 2023 at Jones Beach State Park and the southern shore of Long Island.
- Participants will swim 1.2-mile in Zach’s Bay, bike 56-miles along the Wantagh State Parkway and run 13.1-mile along the Jones Beach Boardwalk, with a unique finish line experience on the beach.
- Jones Beach State Park is located on the southern shore of Long Island, 40-miles outside of Manhattan and New York City, with easy access to the park via three international airports and the Long Island Rail Road.
Registration for the Ironman 70.3 New York - Jones Beach triathlon will begin on February 1st, 2023.
“We are thrilled to bring an Ironman 70.3 triathlon to Long Island for the first time,” said Dave Christen, Sr. Regional Director for The Ironman Group. “With some of the most beautiful beaches in the Northeast, we know our athletes will enjoy the stunning scenery, beautiful weather, access to New York City, and friendly communities here on Long Island.”
The triathlon will consist of a 1.2-mile swim in Zach’s Bay at Jones Beach State Park, a scenic 56-mile bike ride along the Wantagh State Parkway, culminating with a 13.1-mile run along the Jones Beach Boardwalk, with a unique finish line experience on the beach.
Located on the southern shore of Long Island, Jones Beach State Park is just 40-miles outside of Manhattan and New York City and offers easy access via three international airports and the Long Island Rail Road. The area offers plenty of activities and entertainment for athletes and visitors, including the Jones Beach Theater and one of the largest air shows on earth.
