Kona 2013 Australian Team Breakfast
A joint initiative between Triathlon Australia and Ironman Asia Pacific saw a huge turnout for the inaugural Australian Kona Breakfast. We heard from a couple of the sports greats in Michellie Jones and Greg Welsh along with some very inspirational athletes with Terry Kennedy and Bill Chaffey who brought it home to everyone that there are always tougher stories.
Greg Welsh gave some good insights in the what to expect and think about on race day for all those competing. Michellie Jones spoke about her career and both answered some good questions from the crowd.
Credit must got to Anne Gripper, CEO Triathlon Australia and Geoff Meyer, CEO Ironman Asia Pacific for putting this breakfast together. It is great to see a triathlon union get behind long course athletes. We usually see a single focus on the Olympic distance racing and ITU so this new step towards supporting long course is great to see.
