Gatorade Triathlon Series (featuring the Active Feet Fun Tri) opener is shaping up for a great day with over 1,700 competitors entered.
The series organisers, SuperSprint, welcome back Australian Olympians Erin Densham and Brendan Sexton who will be providing race tips, sharing their London Olympic experience with participants and signing autographs. Both Densham and Sexton are ambassadors of the Series. Also racing are Peter Kerr, Clayton Fettell, Luke Bell and Spanish contender, Hilario Real, as well as hundreds of age groupers and first timers. Defending Series champion Madeleine Oldfield, will be back to defend her title against a host of upcoming talent.
The Active Feet Fun Tri, held in conjunction with the Gatorade Triathlon Series, is set for a record field of beginners and social competitors taking on the short course and making a start in triathlons.
The Series also returns with some wonderful initiatives including the introduction of the Gatorade Triple Crown, where a competitor must finish the Sprint (Sun 13 Jan), Olympic (Sun 3 Feb) and Long Course (Sun 17 Mar) distance events consecutively, offering a fantastic endurance challenge for competitors.
‘SuperSprint’s Triathlon Series is about reaching your own personal goals in a fun supportive environment whether it’s beating a personal best or trying a tri for the first time. Our goal is to encourage everyone to live a healthier active lifestyle “and maintain it.’ David Hansen, Director, SuperSprint.
SuperSprint’s iPhone App is back catering to the needs of competitors and their family and friends that would like to monitor their progress during events. If you want to download this app go to itunes and search for ‘SuperSprint Events’.
