Huskisson laid on a hot and still day,  resulting in some very fast times, but also  some overheated athletes. Despite being altered from last year,  after some initial clarification, the women were all able to navigate the new swim course without issue, before embarking on a bike course unhindered by wind, and  a flat run where temperatures quickly hit the 33 degree mark.

The fastest age grouper of the day was the ever impressive Caroline Sweeney.    The BRATS member put in a very fast time of 4.17.40 to take out the 30-34 age group ahead of Tara Nolan and Greta Truscott. Once again  Caroline’s run proved to be her decisive weapon.

The 40-44 age category was  also a particularly competitive one for the women, with Helen Roach and Linda O’Connor battling it out for line honors.   Again Helen’s run proved to be decisive on the day.

A name to watch for the future is Anna Cleaver who took out the 25-29 age group in 4.27.57.    Her peak years are yet to come and should be impressive. Belinda Soszyn,  a name we have been hearing for a few years now,  had another great win in the 55-59 in 5.07.19
