Athletes undertake a 140.6-mile journey through Madison and its surrounding areas during a rain soaked Sunday. The 2.4-mile swim took place in waters of Lake Monona, steps away from Madison’s iconic Monona Terrace. Once out of the water, athletes set out on the 112-mile bike course. The bike course led the athletes through the rolling hills and beautiful dairy land that Dane County is known for. Athletes then set out on the 26.2-mile run course taking them along the lakesides, through the University of Wisconsin of Wisconsin’s campus, into the historical Camp Randall Stadium and culminating in an unforgettable finish in front of the Wisconsin State Capitol Building.
