The Brooks Forster running festival held on the 11th September proved to be an amazing success with over 700 competitors experiencing a beautiful spring day to come and run around the amazing water ways of Forster Tuncurry.
After such a successful event the Hastings council have now welcomed the inaugural Brooks Port Macquarie running festival into their town which will be staged on the Sunday 18th March 2012.
Event director Peter Camilleri said the Brooks Port Macquarie running festival will boast the same format as Forster, allowing everyday people the opportunity to achieve their goals from a 4km walk… to a 21.1km half marathon.
The course is designed to showcase Port Macquarie’s beautiful Hastings River, Oceanside and break walls, while the start and finish will be right in the centre of town on the Town Green.
Peter Camilleri said he is very excited about the recent announcement of the continued relationship with Brooks as the major naming rights sponsor for the Port Macquarie running festival.
The half marathon will be offering a staggering $500 cash for the male and female winners, while second and third place can still run away with $300 and $200 respectively.
