These little beauties are a winner for so many reasons: quick and easy to whip up, full of wholesome energy, and so portable you can carry them anywhere. Use your imagination and thus whatever seeds, nuts and dried fruit you like, and create different tastes and textures each time. Once cooled, cut them and wrap them individually to enjoy after training sessions or even on the bike for your long ride.
Honey Buzz Bars are wheat, gluten, dairy and refined sugar free, and are completely grain free.
Honey Buzz Bars
- 2 cups seeds (cashews, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, coarsely chopped)
- 1/2 cups nuts (green pumpkin seeds, pepitas, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds)
- 2 cups dried fruit (any variety)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
Grind 2 cups seeds, 1/2 cups nuts to form flour like consistency.
dd nut/seed “flour”, 1 cup seeds, 2 cups chopped dried fruit, tsp cinnamon. Stir.
Add 1/4 cup melted coconut oil and 1/2 cup honey.
Press mixture into greased slice tin & bake 20min 180 degrees.
Let cool completely before gently cutting, wrapping bars and storing in fridge.
