Australian triathletes had mixed results in Wellington, New Zealand on Saturday, March 13 2010. There were choppy seas and windy conditions on the bike and run. The wind is something Kiwis fair better in than Aussies as a rule. There are not many places in Australia where wind is almost an everday occurance which makes training to combat it tough.

In the elite men’s race Dave Matthews narrowly missed 3rd by one second. David Dellow was 7th, Peter Robertson 9th, Peter Schokman 10th, James Seear 12th, Ben Allen 14th, Cameron Good 15th, Tyson Mahon 16th and Charlie Boyle 19th.

In the women’s elite race Australian finishers were as follows: Sarah Crowley 5th, Kirralee Seidel 6th, Melissa Trims 7th, Maxine Seear 8th and Sophia Amor-Smith was 10th.

Our under 23 athletes faired better with 2nd and 3rd in the mens event and a clean sweep in the womens event.
