Without doubt, the sport of triathlon is booming at the moment. Why we ask ourselves? One of the answers could be because event organisers are searching for new innovations to test the minds and bodies of our athletic abilities at all levels of fitness and for all ages. One of these event production specialists are the NSW based Elite Energy. With a tag line to their events “Making Events Memorableâ€, Mark (Emo) Emerton (Managing Director for Elite Energy) and the team are set to hit the country with their new branding – ULTIMATE TRIATHLON. Those of us that race at Elite Energy events know what a great atmosphere the team creates for everyone attending. Off the back of the launch this season of the new triseries these additional long distance triathlons should be a huge success.
This new event will be launched at the birth place of Ironman Australia (Forster) in October 2011, with Batemans Bay also just being added and locations to be announced interstate. Distances for ULTIMATE TRIATHLON will be a 2k swim, 120km bike and a 20km run. This event will be a step up for our longer distances athletes and with a shorter run (20km) will enable athletes to recover and race or train within a few weeks.
As with all events produced by Elite Energy, the ULTIMATE TRIATHLON will be the premier event of a 2 or 3 day triathlon and multisport festival. These festivals will include Olympic Distance, Enticers, Ocean Swims and MINIMAN Triathlon for the kids. So with an event to cover all ages and abilities, the ULTIMATE TRIATHLON and Multi-Sport Festival will in years build to be an iconic destination for both local and international athletes. Entries and information will go online soon at www.eliteenergy.com.au
