The two time top 10 finisher in Kona spoke to us upon his return of his successful defence of his Philippines ironman 70.3 title “Working with Chris Boardman and the team at Boardman bikes I’ve got myself focused on getting strong and aero on the bike. We’ve spoken of the importance of being aero and light and to pay great attention to every detail. This includes the finer aspects of how I’ll carry my Shotz Nutrition fluids and gels. So we went straight to XLAB to get their input and it was wonderful to have them so keen on supporting me.”

XLAB works closely with their sponsored athletes such as multiple world champions Chrissie Wellington and Craig Alexander to continually improve their products. Craig Turner of XLab told us “XLAB has always believed in extensive testing. From the early days when supplying rear hydration carriers for Ironman distance winners back in 1993 to today using sophisticated laminar flow testing in the San Diego Low Speed Wind Tunnel. It is important for us to work with great athletes and we seek their feedback to develop the best products available for athlete’s nutrition storage requirements on the bike. When Pete’s management team contacted us we had no hesitation in working with another Aussie Triathlete that will no doubt continue to be a force to be reckoned with for the years to come. XLAB is excited to be working with PJ.”

Jacobs will use XLAB’s products in racing and training including their market leading: Torpedo Mount and bottles; Aero TT system and bottles as well as Carbon rear wing hydration carriers.
