Terenzo Bozzone wins Ironmn 70.3 Shepprton with a 1:12 Half Marathon

Terenzo Bozzone has showed his class with a race best 1:12:02 half marathon to take out the 2012 Shepparton 70.3. Bozzone had some early chasing to do with Joseph Lampe leading the field out of the water. Both guys headed out of T2 together and from then on it was all the ‘Terenzo Bozzone Show’. This is Bozzone’s thrid win from three 70.3 starts with wins at the recent Taiwan 70.3 and Miami 70.3.

Lampe had an outstanding performance last week in Noosa and was leading the race ahead of some world class athletes on to the run. We have been following Lampe closely for almost three years now and watching grow with each race. He is a big guy and with time his run is closing in on his class leading swim/bike combo.

Riding in no mans land today was overall third placed Leon Griffin. Griffin put some significant time in to fellow pros Matty White and Tim Reed with White loosing around four minutes to Griffin and Reed losing just over two minutes. Griffin went on for a comfortable third.

Behind Griffin and Tim Reed and running the second fastest half marathon of the day was Matty White. White was still almost 40 seconds behind Reed at the 14km mark. Reed had an uncharacteristically slow run while White was storming through the field to take 4th overall after a slower than normal bike time.
