Wollongong Wizards ITU training squad shows the Bondi Rescue triathletes how to swim

Adriel ‘Bacon’ Young and Andy ‘Reidy’ Reid stopped in at Wollongong to take part in the weekly Friday morning ITU open water swim training session to find out what swimming at ITU speeds is really like.

Bacon is a very handy age group swimmer and Reidy is, well let’s just say that this 45 year old author has his measure in the pool.

Under the watchful eye of coach Jamie Turner the team do some pretty solid drills every Friday. This week the Bondi boys were disappointed to see dead flat conditions as they come in to their own when the seas get choppy. Swimming with these ‘Salmon’ in flat pool like conditions was never going to be easy.
