It’s with great feelings that CHALLENGEFAMILY is announcing the new race date for CHALLENGEKAISERWINKL-WALCHSEE 2019. Breaking the tradition of the late-summer weekends, the Austrian race will move to June 30, 2019. This moment seems to fit better in most of the race calendars of the regional athletes and also the organisation is hoping for better weather conditions in June after three years of heavy September rains in the Alpes.
On the press conference where CHALLENGEFAMILY announced that the contract with CHALLENGEKAISERWINKL-WALCHSEE will be extended for at least five more years, more great improvements were announced. Aiming to involve more endurance sport minded people at the event weekend, CHALLENGEKAISERWINKL-WALCHSEE introduces a couple of sides events. From 2018 a Challenge Swim and a Challenge Women will be part of the event schedule.
“It’s one of the greatest races in the German-speaking countries,” CHALLENGEFAMILY CEO Zibi Szlufcik said. “With eight years of successful implementation of CHALLENGEKAISERWINKL-WALCHSEE, the race has been established as one of the greatest in the region. Breathtaking scenery, welcoming atmosphere and seamless organization is what athletes love this race for.”
Also, the Kaiserwinkl Tourism Association expressed their appreciation of the value of the high-quality race. “We are very happy, that this big event will be again in our region for the next 5 years,” said Gerd Erharter, representative of the Kaiserwinkl Tourism Association.
To emphasize how well the triathlon is anchored in the region, the Tourism Association invests in year-round course signage and a billboard with a countdown clock to the event. Also training camps will be organised in both summer and winter seasons. “The Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee region as the hosting venue evolve to a triathlon destination for the entire year with excellent winter and summer conditions for training,” Szlufcik adds. “The stand-alone position in the entire Alps region with triathlon related services showcase the commitment and CHALLENGEFAMILY are proud of this long-term partnership.”
