The Professional Triathlon Association (PROTA) has announced it’s formation earlier than planned in response to the WTC’s recent circular to professional Triathletes regarding proposed rule and policy changes.
The proposed WTC changes announced at the end of June, cover policies that have been in place in some instances for over 25 years, and includes areas such as: Kona qualification; pro rankings; prize money and pro-licenses.
PROTA, a non profit corporation, was conceived to represent the interests of US pro Triathletes, particularly those not represented by the ITU, but has now extended it’s mandate to cover non US Triathletes.
PROTA has written to WTC asking them to extend the one week deadline that athletes were given to respond to the recommended changes.
