Jason Shortis completed his 50th Official Ironman triathlon with a 4th Place at the 2010 Spec Savers Ironman South Africa.

In the end Jason Shortis was 16 minutes off the eventual winner Raynard Tissink but along the way made some good inroads at the start of the marathon to look like he had something special in his legs today.

Local triathlete, Raynard Tissink, gave the home crowd something to cheer about as he ran down Mathais Hecht early on in the run and managed to slowly pull away to comfortably win.

Daniel Fontana was 3rd, with Shortis 4th, fromer champion Stephen Bayliss 5th and Jan Raphael 6th.
