Forster Triseries opener will see some of the best up and coming triathletes racing

Corey Bacon is bringing some of ACT’s top rising talent to Forster on September 18 to race in the Pro Tour and other events over the weekend. ACT triathletes ranging in age from 12 to 22 will be racing for honours in Elite Energy’s new triseries.

Top male athletes like the Somi brothers are very talented athletes who will be looking at the Pro Tour this season with the focus being a couple of Olympic distance races. They will also be looking at gaining further experience at the draft legal format and looking at representing Australia at the 2012 Triathlon Age Group World Championships in Wellington NZ. As will the majority of PTC athletes. Both boys have placed high in all events to date. Nuru Somi (22 years) Daudi Somi (20 years) will both be racing for podium finishes.

The below boys will be competing in the ITU Junior Series for 2010/11. They will be competing against the best juniors in Australia in the 16-19 year age group. It will be Declan and Toms first season at the junior elite level. Shane and Adam have had two seasons racing the ITU Junior Series and will be very competitive this season. Shane and Adam placed in the top 10 at the Australian Schools Championships finishing 4th and 7th respectively. Both placed in various events throughout last season. Shane Farrant (17 years), Adam Rudgley (17 years), Declan Wilson (17 years) and Tom Styman (16 years) will all be racing in the Pro Tour as well.

Kym Ireland (24 years). Kym will focus on Pro Tour and local events and I’m sure will be in very good contention for selection at Worlds in 2012.

Georgia Hardy (16 years) – Pro Tour. Georgia will be the only girl in the squad at this stage who will be competing at the ITU Junior Elite level this coming season. She is younger than many of the other girls and will gain plenty of experience racing against the best junior girls in the country.

Ayla Rudgley (15 years) and Bonnie Andrews (15 years) will both race Sprint. Both Ayla and Bonnie are very competitive in their age group and are the future of ACT’s Junior Elite girls. They will continue to develop and hopefully will be knocking on the door of the ITU junior elite series soon.

Freya Aisbitt (14 years) and Courtney Bacon (12 years) will both be racing the Enticer. Freya and Courtney are new to the sport and enjoy racing and also will continue to grow and develop as athletes.
