NSW triathletes will be starting their 2012/2013 championship campaigns on Nov 4 with the first round of the Elite Energy triseries taking place at Huskisson on the NSW South Coast. Each of the rounds of the triseries is a full triathlon festival with races for all ages and abilities. The championship titles are fought over the Enticer, Sprint and Olympic distance races with supporting MINIMAN races for the kids plus running races, cycling time trials and open water swims depending on the weekend.

The series will once again have the grand final in Port Stephens where all winners receive their medals after the final days racing at the end of season party and presentation.

This year sees the addition of rounds in Orange and Temora with the Wollongong round being a Triathlon Australia qualifying race for the Olympic distance team in 2013.

We will also hopefully see the exciting new Mixed Relay format continue on from its successful debut at the Forster Ultimate triathlon weekend recently. There were 13 teams and 52 athletes participating in what was an exciting and fast paced event. The eventual winners from Performance Triathlon Coaching in Canberra will no doubt want to retain their title.

As little as four years ago it was difficult to find quality triathlon events in NSW that had Olympic distance racing on a regular occurrence. Now we have at least 12 but maybe more within a 3-5 hour drive from Sydney.
