Lisa Norden ran in to 1st place to take the $151,000 first prize at the Hy-Vee Triathlon 5151 US Championship today. Coached by Australian Darren Smith, Lisa Norden had a mixed ITU season this year due to some constant injury problems. The self confessed late starter in the season has peaked at the right time.

Australian triathlete and current world ironman champion Mirinda Carfrae was devasting in second position with ITU specilaist Sarah Haskins from the USA finishing in 3rd.

Annabel Luxford, also of Australia finished 12th and banked $9000. Another Australian and long course specialist Pip Taylor finished last but still took home more than $3000.
