Race 5 of the Gatorade Triathlon Series, the Portarlington Triathlon, celebrates its’ 27th year on Sunday 17th March, 2013 at Portarlington Pier, Portarlington.   This quiet seaside town is the idyllic setting for some of most talented triathletes this country has to offer. The Portarlington Triathlon is Victoria’s favourite and longest running triathlon. Event Director, David Hansen said, “Portarlington has been rated as one of the best courses in Australia. We are extremely fortunate to be utilising all the best features for the long course with a 3 lap bike course and a 3 lap run.”

The coastal town has been known to attract World and National Champions with past winners including, Stephen Foster, Chris Legh (1996), Emma Carney (4 times), Craig McKenzie (6 times) and Tim Bentley (5 times). This year isn’t any different with triple World Champion and two-time Olympian, Peter “Robbo” Robertson participating in the Long Course on Sunday, 17 March.

Online entries for the event close on Thursday 14 March at 5pm. Enter now to be a part of one of the most spectacular Long Course venues in Australia.

This is also the last event for the brand new Gatorade Triple Crown championship “which means you need to race and finish in the Sprint, Olympic and Long Course events in the Gatorade Series. All competitors who finish all three races will be awarded a “Gatorade Triathlon Triple Crown” t-shirt by 2XU on stage at the Portarlington Long Course presentations.

All Portarlington Long Course participants will receive this Gatorade Triathlon Series Long Course Finishers Towel by 2XU to commemorate their achievement.
