Fiji International Long Course Triathlon to debut in 2013

Mark ‘Emo’ Emerton and Mark Stewart from Elite Energy did not make it a secret that they were in Fiji to discuss holding a possible triathlon festival there in 2013. And there was a lot of support for the event online with many people suggesting they will be penciling this in as an end of season holiday. The details we have so far are that it will be a very similar festival format to the big Huskisson weekend that attracted 4000 competitors this year. The main race will be a long course 2:80:2

Bevan Docherty grabs third in Ironman 70.3 World Championship

New Zealand triathlete Bevan Docherty has finished in an impressive third place on debut at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in the blazing heat of Las Vegas today. The two-time Olympic medallist made his move early on the run to push up to second place on the first of three laps of the 21.1km run before being passed by defending champion, Craig Alexander (AUS). Docherty held on strongly to finish third place ahead of fast finishing Americans Tim O’Donnell and Andy Potts as the temperatures

It was record breaking conditions at the 3rd Tyrol Challenge Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl: 14 degrees C at the start, a bit more than 18 in the water of Lake Walchsee, dry streets and overcast with sunny spells. And that was exactly what happened:  German favorite Andreas Raelert finished in 3:48:49,
